‘Women are superheroes.’ - Serena Williams

Working women are the strongest people out there. However, many working women out there are engulfed by guilt or pain that they are unable to achieve the ‘perfect work-life balance’ which can cause unnecessary stress in a working woman’s life - more than they already have to go through.

Here are some tips - to help balance your work and life, to help promote happiness and a stress-free environment.

STAY POSITIVE

To the working women out there, you are trying your hardest and we can see it. Striking up a balance between your work life and home life can be daunting, but remember to stay positive.

Optimism is the most important aspect of maintaining an ideal balance between work and life. When you stop believing in yourself, you lose a little part of yourself.

Try meditation or yoga, it helps to increase the serotonin production in your brain, helping you to be happy. Cut out the negative people in your life. There are many people out there who don’t have the best intentions for you. The minute you cut them out, the happier you become.

And finally, always remember that you are strong and you have no reason to feel guilt about your life choices.

INVEST IN YOURSELF

Perhaps the biggest mistake that working women make is forgetting about themselves. Many working women out there start to neglect themselves when they are overwhelmed from balancing work and life. However, taking some time out for yourself every day is extremely important for your mental health.

Perchance, invest in a hobby. It can be anything you enjoy, like sewing or gardening. Hobbies are likely to reduce stress and depression. They can help keep you happy and help create much happier and stress-free days!

To the working women out there, your work and life out there is important, but you are also important. As important as you find it to take care of your work, it is just as important to take care of yourself.

SCHEDULE YOUR DAY

‘A good daily schedule is a blueprint for a successful life. Many working women have many hectic and time-consuming tasks to go through in a day. It can be overwhelming at times to look at how much has to be done in the span of 24 hours. Scheduling your day out can help alleviate some of this stress and also boost productivity.

Women, take some time out in the morning to help plan out your day. Seeing your tasks written out in front of you can help diminish the stressful nature of your work and help you set clear goals for each day. An organized day can help to strike up a beautiful balance between your work life and home life.

But, remember, that plans can change sometimes. Just because your day is not going as planned, does not mean you are failing. Remember to stay calm and optimistic. This is just a small hurdle you can easily jump over with the right persistence.

LOOK FOR HELP

Many working women have withheld the notion that they should not ask for help. They believe that asking for help means they have ‘failed’. However, this cannot be further from the truth.

Many jobs can be demanding and having a demanding home life on top of that can increase stress and deteriorate your mental wellbeing.

Don’t let a sexist notion destroy your health.
Asking for help can be simple. It can be for your households, such as a maid or a nanny. Having someone take care of some of your tasks at home can help alleviate the pressure on your shoulders; allowing you to relax when you get back from work. If you are finding life to still be too stressful, perhaps it’s time to seek help from a therapist or a trusted member of your family. Talking about your fears and daily life can help you to reduce the burden you are feeling and help you to live a more stress-free life.

Women, the art of balancing work and life starts with you. It is important to always keep your health and safety as a priority. Do not take on more than you can handle, your happiness matters the most. And please remember that the most important thing to know is that there is no ‘perfect work-life balance. There will always be ups and downs, but that doesn’t mean anything. You are strong and powerful and can achieve anything if you put your will into it.
