Preparing Your Daughter For The Future

  • Posted In : 2021-Mar-23

”You don’t have to play masculine to be a strong woman.”-Mary Elizabeth Winstead

Confidence. Leadership skills. Problem-solving, these are the absolute most important skill required for the job market.

As generations continue to change and attitudes start to shift away from a patriarchal mindset, parents are often cornered about which skills their daughters need to enter a job.

It all starts in childhood. Any skill needed is built up during the most crucial part of your daughter’s life: infancy. The minute she starts speaking and utters her first question, that’s when the preparation for your daughter’s personality and therefore, her job performance, starts.

Once that first question is uttered, your daughter is relying on you to guide her through achieving her full potential. Your daughter needs the push and encouragement to continue asking more questions and seeking out answers if she ever wants the necessary skills for a job and the confidence to be able to ask her boss for a promotion or raise.

Around 85% of Indian women have missed out on an opportunity for a raise and this could be owed to the discouragement that many young Indian daughters face in their childhood when they ask questions.

Don’t let your daughter be one of the 85%. Encourage her to ask all types of questions. India needs more confident women in their leadership roles.

”Every girl and every woman has the potential to make this world a better place, and that potential lies in the act of thinking higher thoughts and feeling deeper things. When women and girls, everywhere, begin to see themselves as more than inanimate objects; but as beautiful beings capable of deep feelings and high thoughts, this has the capacity to create change all around. The kind of change that is for the better.”-C. JoyBell C.
